Not sure what to say?

Danny was an absolute legend and he will be missed dearly. I was heartbroken to hear of his passing this morning. He had an impact on my life and I will cherish the memories I have with him for the rest of my years until I meet my dear friend in Heaven again.

Danny was one of the kindest, gentlest, silly souls I ever met. He wholeheartedly loved playing Bingo and UNO and spending time with his friends and loved ones. He loved singing his hymns, and enjoyed visits from one of his closest friends. I have enjoyed spending the last few months with him and getting to know him. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Danny's (Dan the Man) passing. Always having a smile, God Bless! Sorry I missed the visitation, I will say a prayer for him tonight.

So sorry to hear of Danny’s passing. Couldn’t have bad a brighter face walking the halls of State Farm. Heaven gained a good one for sure. He will be missed

I worked with Danny for many years at State Farm - he will forever be remembered for his kindness, smile and friendship. Rest in peace, Danny - you will be missed!

Dan had to be one of the friendliest and funniest guys I knew. From playing cards (holding on till the last card turned) to Scioto Downs horse racing to almost anything you wanted to do, he (Dan the Man) would join in. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Dan could get along with anyone, always a huge sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Dan the man added so much to my life thru the years. From golf league times 40 years ago to bingo games at arlington with my mom and dad. You will be missed by many. R.I P my friend

Danny was a great guy. Worked with him at SF. Always had a smile on his face and ready to help anyone. He will be truly missed.

Obituary

Danny's Obituary

Danny Lee Kopp, 80, of Newark passed away August 18, 2025 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH.  He was born March 3, 1945 in Newark, OH to the late George W. Kopp and Winifred (Arbuckle) Kopp.

Danny was proudly employed at State Farm for 26 years, retiring in 2007. Danny considered "The Farm" as his family and  his co-workers readily recognized his warm friendly soul.

Danny loved participating in BINGO games, singing gospel at church services, and reading his Jimmy Swaggart Bible.  He was also an avid Newark Wildcats, OSU Buckeyes, Cleveland Guardians, and Cleveland Browns fan.

Danny embraced his residence at Arlington Care Center as an ambassador. He always selflessly assisted and helped other residents and, of course, won over the staff with his charm. "Dan The Man" was a very fitting nickname for such a kind, gentle, caring, compassionate, ornery and fun loving gentleman.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his brother, George R. Kopp; sisters, Carol J. Willey and Joyce L. Vermillion; and best friend, Chris "Bummy" Baumgartner.

Special thanks to all the staff at Arlington Care Center who are recognized for their continued support and compassion shown to residents.

In Danny's honor, a memorial fund for Arlington Care Center residents "Christmas Angels" has been set up. Funds are utilized to provide items for Christmas gifts to residents.  Envelopes for donations will be available at the funeral home.

Friends may call 5-7pm, August 26, 2025 at Vensil & Chute | Newark

Private burial will be at Newark Memorial Gardens.
