Dear Danny it's Beverly the mother of ur Grandson Christopher. I wanted to let u no that the 12 yrs that I was a part of the Yonker family u were such a a kind hearted, very handsome man that was full of such a Loving spirit made of Gold . He was always someone who would help myself and my own Father work on a car, including those of friends and other family members. Danny Lee Yonker, 95, of Mason, WV, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, OH.
He was born March 21, 1930, in New Haven, WV, a son of Charley and Jessie (Cundiff) Yonker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kent Yonker; grandson, Darren Yonker; siblings, Charles “Buck”, Raymond, Leota, Leona, and Martha.
Danny graduated from Wahama High School, class of 1948, and was a retired Millwright from Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical Company, with 37 years of service. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 140, New Haven, WV. Danny was a member of the Mason United Methodist Church where he previously served as an Usher and was also a member of the United Steelworkers Local 5668, Ravenswood, WV. Danny was a member of New Haven Road Angels and the Wahama Athletic Hall of Fame as well. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed square dancing.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 74 years, Charlotte (Cook) Yonker; son, Kevin Yonker of Mason, WV and three grandchildren, Chris, Erik, and Hattie; and great grandson, Dylan Yonker.
Service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Foglesong Funeral Home, Mason, WV, with Pastor Howard Blaine and Neil Tennant officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12 p.m. until time of the service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
