Darl Lee Mulhorn, 81
of Bullskin Township passed away at 12:06 PM Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Darl was born September 16, 1944 in Upper Tyrone Township, Fayette County, a son of the late Edward Parker and Garnet E. (Willard) Mulhorn, who passed away in 1969 and 1997 respectively. Darl married Linda L. (McVey) Mulhorn on December 11, 1965.
Darl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle. He graduated from Connellsville Area High School, Class of 1963 and was employed for 49 1/2 years as a melter with Duraloy Blaw-Knox in Scottdale. Darl served as a Light Weapons Infantryman from 1963-1969 in the PA National Guard’s Company A, 1st Battalion, 110th Infantry where he was awarded the Badge Marksman, PA Service Ribbon, and the General Thomas J. Steward Medal. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid Steelers fan.
Darl will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 59 years, Linda L. (McVey) Mulhorn; his thee children, Todd Mulhorn and wife Gretchen of Kettering, OH, Kelly Hixson of Scottdale, and Adam Mulhorn and wife Kathy of Mount Pleasant; his five grandchildren, Megan Hixson, Zachary Hixson (Amanda), Joshua Hixson, Ethan Mulhorn, and Marshall Mulhorn; his five great grandchildren, Hayden Adams, Taya Paulton, Meira Hixson, Brinley Hixson, and Chase Hixson; his two sisters, Marjorie Santmeyer of Scottdale and Janet O’Brien of South Connellsville; his brother, Fred Mulhorn of Brunswick, OH; his sister-in-law, Alfretta Mulhorn of Scottdale; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Mark Hixson ; and his two brothers, Duaine and Keith Mulhorn.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 2-7 PM Friday and 10-11 AM Saturday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday with Pastor Brian Swan officiating.
