I knew Darlene for a short 3 years, but in those 3 years I learned to love her beyond measure. Oh, the stories she could tell and the places she had been!!
Quick short story. We did a program we called Golden Galavanters where she li ed. We had a world map and would "visit" different cities, states, countries. Darlene Borcherding, passed away on December 11, 2025.
Darlene was born on June 1, 1931 to John Carl and Geneva (nee Crump) Borcherding.
She is survived by her nephews, John (Kathy) Skjei, Mark (Catherine) Skjei, niece, Darlene (the late Lloyd) Twente. Great nephews, Logan (Anna) Skjei, Jordan Skjei, Jacob Sckjei, great niece, Janet (Eric) Gooding.
Darlene is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Wanda Skjei and Donna Borcherding.
Darlene was raised in Fulton by loving a family and she dedicated her life to her family and friends. As an elementary school teacher, she touched countless lives with her patience and compassion. Darlene was known for her giving spirit and unwavering devotion to family and church. As a civil servant, she taught U.S. military children in Japan and Germany. She enjoyed traveling within and without the US with family and friends throughout the years.
Services: A memorial service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church in Fulton, Missouri, on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. A private interment will be held at a later date.
