Darlene Latrice Cameron McZeek, a native and resident of Mobile, AL passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015. She was born on September 6, 1959 to the late Henry Major Cameron, Sr. and Geneva Louise Hollis Cameron.Darlene gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized into Christ at Southside Church of Christ in Mobile, AL. She later became a member of Bellingrath Road Church of Christ, where she was a devout Christian until her death. She was well known at many other congregations as well. Her relationship with Christ and stewardship were the most important factors in her life.A 1977 graduate of Murphy High School, Darlene was an exceptional and outgoing student. After graduating she married Melvin Johnson Sr. and made their home in Portsmouth, VA where they started their beautiful family. She gave birth to a daughter, Reshawn Cameron, and two sons, Melvin and Marquis Johnson. She returned to Mobile with her children in 1985. She enjoyed every moment she spent with her family and rejoiced every time she saw her family together. She enjoyed watching tennis, Alabama football, and Dallas Cowboys. She loved to cook and was quite a comedian. She devoted her life to Christ and serving others. She was fun to be around and always had a way of making you laugh or smile.
