Darliss VanderVorste, daughter of Lawrence and Helen (Aldritt) Miller, was born May 17, 1938 on a farm near Wetonka, South Dakota.  She received her education in Leola, South Dakota, graduating from high school in 1956.

In 1963 Darliss was united in marriage to Donald VanderVorste.  They were blessed with a daughter, Brenda and a son, Troy.

Darliss worked for many years at Mallard Agri Center and then ten years at the Palo Alto County Hospital in food service.

Darliss enjoyed going for walks, attending fairs and going to Casinos with her friends.  Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with them.

Darliss passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Emmetsburg Care Center at the age of 83.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lawrence; and sisters, Sharon in infancy and Marie.

She is survived by her children Brenda (Robert) Harding of Graettinger, Iowa and Troy (Mary) VanderVorste of Howell, Michigan; four grandchildren, Kyle, Jason, Cayla and Kobe; and brother and sisters, James (Norma) Miller of Wetonka, South Dakota, Linda (Roger) Rohwedder of Wetonka, South Dakota, Barb Clausen of Gillette, Wyoming, Judy Hammrich of Ipwich, South Dakota, Cathy Miller of Lancaster, Texas, Gloria Rudolph of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Jacky (Dennis) Anderson of Aberdeen, South Dakota; many nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.Arrangements by Martin-Mattice Funeral Home
