Obituary

Darrell's Obituary

Darrell Cowsert, age 63, of Greenville, passed away April 12, 2025 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on July 17, 1961, the son of Gene Cowsert, Martha (May) Schaffer, and step mom Faye Cowsert. 

He worked as a machinist in the oil field for many years and was a member of Greenville Baptist Church. He married Sheila (Ashlock) Cowsert on November 8, 1980 in Bunker, Missouri and she preceded him in death on February 28, 2022.

Darrell is also preceded in death by his parents, Gene Cowsert and Martha Schaffer.

Survivors includes three children, Kristian Collins of Patterson, Eric Cowsert of McAllister, OK, Alexus Cowsert and her husband Jawaun McCoy of Parma, two brothers, Raymond Eugene Cowsert and wife Jenna of Trinton, Florida, and Cletis Beck and wife Donna of Salem, Missouri, seven sisters, Nancy Darlene Spencer of Moore, Oklahoma, Brenda Bradford of Curryville, Missouri, Connie Williams of Dixon, Missouri, Patricia Ann Streck and husband James of Hennessey, Oklahoma, Judy Kay Hovis of Licking, Missouri, Carol Jean Burchette of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Betty Louise Anderson and husband Kevin of Dixon, Missouri, and his step mother, Faye Cowsert of Ellington, Missouri.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Faith Collins, Brett, Lilly, Levi, Emily Jo, Erica, Kylie, and Camden Cowsert, along with many other family and friends.

Visitation was held Friday, April 18th, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral service followed at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Justin Miller officiating. Special recorded songs were played for the service with Blake, Brock, Samuel, Jawaun, Brett, and Levi serving as Pall Bearers. 

Interment was in the Price Cemetery in Redford.
