Darrell Jones

Darrell Jones was born on May 31, 1953, to the late Herschel and Evelyn Jones. He passed on to his eternal rest on June 24, 2025. He was educated in Fayette County Public School System, graduating from LaFayette High School. He was a long-time employee at University of Kentucky Hospital. Darrell confessed his hope in Jesus Christ at an early age at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church. Darrell was a loving and caring son, father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herschel Jones; mother, Evelyn Jones; and siblings, Cheryl Wingate and Ernestine Johnson.

Darrell leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Scottie; daughter, Jeanne (Floyd) Barnes; son, Scott Darrell W oodard; grandchildren, Floyd (Trey) Barnes, Alizabeth Woodard, Kyryn Yeary, and Avery Rowland; siblings, Quincy (Birdie) Shelton, Ruby G. White, Michael (Debra) Jones, Alona Johnson, Aratha Johnson, Kay Johnson, and Anthony Johnson; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Porter, Angela Jackson-Buckman, Rhonda Faye Huntley (Henry), and Christy Stevens; brothers-in-law, Perry Jackson, Robert Jackson (Sheryl), and Jonathan Jackson (Marcya); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Rest easy Darrell, you will forever be missed.

Services will be 12pm Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the funeral home. Visit 11am.
