We were so sorry to hear about Boudreauxs passing. Weve known him for so many years since he and Dickie sold crawfish at Clearwater. He was always smiling and happy. And oh those jokes. Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Darrell Joseph Boudreaux, Sr., 71, who passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at his residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 7:00 am until 12:30 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Carolyn Dupre' and Sarrah Castille Boudreaux. Gift Bearers will be Siera Boudreaux Lasseigne and Heidi D'albor Dupuis.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Darrell was a parishioner of St. Bernard Catholic Church and served as an usher. He loved fishing, hunting, and crawfishing, and enjoyed going to the movies, taking vacations, entertaining his family and friends vocally, and being the center of attention. Darrell loved his dogs, Rusty and Poppy. Darrell will be remembered for his personality that would embrace a room with lots of laughter and being a practical joker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Marie Castille Boudreaux; son, Darrell "Joey" J. Boudreaux, Jr. and wife Myra of Breaux Bridge; daughter, Cheryl F. D'albor and husband Troy of St. Martinville; sisters, Carolyn Dupre' and husband Wilson Glenn, and Patsy Smith and husband Wayne, all of Franklin; brother, Gary Paul Boudreaux and wife Jean of Breaux Bridge; grandchildren, Ty Boudreaux, Scotty Boudreaux, Tanner Boudreaux, Tad Boudreaux, Siera Boudreaux Lasseigne, Brent Boudreaux, Bryce D'albor, and Heidi D. Dupuis; and great grandchildren, Emily Boudreaux, Abigail Boudreaux, Bella Lasseigne, Mason Boudreaux, Chandler Boudreaux, Adaline Dupuis, Maityn Lasseigne, and Lincoln Boudreaux.
He was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Danny J. and Tammy Escoyne Boudreaux; his parents, Wilbert and Edith Mae Orgeron Boudreaux; his sister, Edith Mae Bourliea; and two brothers, Anthony "Man" and Wilbert J. Boudreaux.
Pallbearers will be Darrell "Joey" J. Boudreaux Jr., Scotty Boudreaux, Tanner Boudreaux, Tad Boudreaux, Brent Boudreaux and Darrell Orgeron.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Paul Boudreaux, Ty Boudreaux and Bryce D'albor.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Heart of Hospice, Hope Healthcare and Hospice, Amanda Fuselier, Darrel Jackson, Shelton Clay, Elaine Bourda, and Terry Mallet, and a very special thanks to his nurse, Alyson Champagne, who was like family to them.
