Not sure what to say?

Gene was such a good cousin and friend. He always had a smile on his face and cared about everyone. We didn’t see each other often but I always knew he was there to help if needed. Love Linda

Jack Goodwin and I worked and retired with Mack. We will miss this good friend through the years.

I am saddened to hear of Gene's passing. He called me a few days ago, and we had a nice visit, talking of the old days.
Godspeed, I'll see you when I get there!

I got to know Mac quite well after he married Ali, Ali and I were in the same class in school and the best of friends. I visited them often over the years and always had a great visit with him. He was a wonderful friend and will be missed for sure. My heart goes out to Ali during this hard time in her life. Many blessings and prayers to her and the family.

Darrell's Obituary

If you're looking at this photo, you're looking at a remarkable man. Darrel Gene "Mack" McAnulty - a beloved husband, father, stepfather, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend - passed away peacefully at home on August 4, 2025.

Born on March 30, 1943, in New Ross, Indiana. Mack was preceded in death by his parents, Azel R. McAnulty, and Miriam B. McAnulty, and his brother, Benny McAnulty. Raised in a proud farming family, his love for the land began early - by age six he had climbed onto a tractor and never looked back.

A 1962 graduate of New Ross High School, Mack went on to build a long and successful career at General Motors in Indianapolis. His strong work ethic and leadership skills earned him multiple promotions before his retirement in 1995.  He also served his country in the Army National Guard Reserves and remained actively involved in farming throughout his life, always rooted - both literally and figuratively - in the soil that shaped him.

Mack was a man who never met a stranger.  His kindness, generosity, and willingness to lend a hand left a lasting impression on everyone he met.  He found joy in life's simple pleasures - especially restoring and tinkering with his beloved Model T and spending time in his garden. More than anything he was deeply devoted to his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alinda "Ali" McAnulty; daughters, Pam Cloncs and Angie Servis (Brian); stepdaughter, Trish Warren; stepson, Tracey Whittinghill; sister, Tammy Whetzel; and his brother, Bob McAnulty (Dee). He also leaves behind ten grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his former wife, Susie Birdsong.

Mack will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.  His legacy of love, laughter, and quiet strength lives on in the hearts of those he touched.

Private Family Graveside Services will be held. Porter and Hunt Funeral Home & Crematory in Jamestown, Indiana have been entrusted with his arrangements.
