Darwyn R. Cook, Sr. was born on June 19, 1944, to Josea and Lorraine Cook in East Chicago, Indiana.
Darwyn, Sr, claimed Christ at an early age in life and attended Zion Baptist Church with his grandmother Carrie Watkins.
Darwyn, Sr. attended East Chicago, Indiana schools graduating from East Chicago Washington High School. He attended Indiana University with an Associate Degree in Computer Programming and Data Processing.
He was employed by East Chicago, Indiana Transit as a Bus Operator until retirement in 2011. His hobbies included writing poems, reading, artistic drawings, painting and craft work.
Darwyn, Sr. married Pamela Cooper on April 8, 2000.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Josea and Lorraine Cook; grandmother, Carrie Watkins; children: Darwyn Cook, Jr., and Mattisha Cook.
Darwyn,Sr. leaves to cherish his memories wife, Pamela Cook; sister, Hossetta Cook, granddaughters: Mattie and Lorraine Cook; stepson, Devon Lamb, special nieces: Antonia (Mark) Page and Darletta Washington and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
