The Southwestern Association of Volunteer Firemen, State of New York, extends its sincere sympathy and condolences to the family of Darryl Goodwill of the Stanley Hose Company, Sherman, NY. While his passing saddens us, we can also celebrate and give thanks for his gift of time, serving his community by providing aid and comfort to those in peril. May he rest in peace.

Daryl's Obituary

SHERMAN- Daryl Raymond Goodwill, 39, of Sherman, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. He was born February 9, 1986, in Westfield, NY, the son of Christopher and Deanna Woods Goodwill. 

     He was a 2004 graduate of Sherman Central School. He was the Street Supervisor for the Village of Sherman and had previously worked for Ellison Bronze in Falconer, NY.

     Daryl was a member of the Stanley Hose Fire Department. He enjoyed woodworking and loved being outdoors, especially hunting, camping and riding his motorcycle. Most of all, he enjoyed time with his family and friends.

     He is survived by his loving wife, Brandi Tenbuckle Goodwill, whom he married May 22, 2021, his parents, Chris and Deanna Goodwill of Bemus Point, NY, his two children, Cheyenne Goodwill of SC and Waylon Goodwill of Sherman, NY, his three step-daughters, Chelsie (Schaeffer Eimers) Mercado of Sherman, NY, Destiny and Desiree Mercado of Sherman, NY, one brother, Craig (Mandi) Goodwill, of Erie, PA, several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.

     He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, an uncle, Donnell Woods, and an aunt, Roxanne Goodwill. 

     There will be no public services observed. A private celebration of life will be held at the family's convenience.

     Memorial donations can be made to the Stanley Hose Rescue Squad (PO Box 574, Sherman, NY 14781).
