Not sure what to say?

I have known Dave my whole life. We grew up together where our first cousins were our best friends and where family gatherings at Gram’s shaped our lives. Our childhood was a wonderful time in our lives. God bless us everyone ✝

My deepest sympathy for your loss. Dave was always friendly & very knowledgeable out at Sugar Shores. Please keep his memories, lessons & stories active, so that he may live on within all of you. May God’s Grace, Love & Strength be with Kim, the family & all his friends as they grieve this great loss.
Rest in God’s Eternal Peace Dave. Maryellen

Dave was like a brother to me, Tina loved the time we spent at the Malta motel. I'm gonna miss you Digger. Rest in peace brother
I'll see you when I get there.

So odd to think that 20 years ago my Mom and I were buying our sites at Sugar Shores from Dave. Always a big smile, an understanding glance, and laughter that was contagious. He will be missed tremendously!

Digger was one of the first campers that we met at Sugar Shores. He showed us around the campground. Now we have been friends since 2006 and love kidding around, watching the groups of friends playing bags. Our heart goes out to Kim and the family, We will miss his humor and talking around the table at their site. Love Maureen & Jerry Edelman

Dave and I are very sad hearing Dave’s passing. God bless the family.

We are very saddened by the passing of Dave. Praying for peace and comfort for the family.

Many memories of playing horseshoes on Sunday afternoons, Digger always took my money on those days. Could never beat him at shoes. Rest in Peace Digger. You will be missed. I’ll remember those days forever.

Anyone who knew Digger knew they had an immediate friend. We shared so many laughs together, and played so many games of horseshoes and bags (and he pretty much always won)! Sending lots of prayers, love and hugs to Kim and Jack and the rest of the family. I'll miss you so much Digger. Love, Blondie.

David P. Bodda 71, of Durand, IL formerly of DeKalb, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at his home.  He was born January 20, 1954 in Rochelle, IL and was the son of Norman and Ruth Maria (Heal) Bodda.

He loved casting a line on quiet fishing trips, spending sunny afternoons on the golf course, tossing horseshoes with friends at his favorite place Sugar Shores, He loved cheering passionately for his favorite teams, especially the Chicago Bears and White Sox. His love for sports ran deep, but it was the moments spent sharing those games with loved ones that meant the most to him.
