Obituary

David's Obituary

David J. Duritsch passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the age of 81. He was born to the late Marie (nee Weber) and William Duritsch on January 12, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dave was the beloved husband of Diane Duritsch (nee DeSalvo) for 58 years; loving father of David (Kristy) Duritsch, Gregory (Jennie) Duritsch, Kristin (Bill) Jones, and Katherine (Kathleen Monahan) Duritsch; cherished grandfather of Jacob (Alicia), Kaylin, Kevin, Ryan, and Charlie Duritsch, Brandon and Emma Jones, and Alyssa (Cameron) Ott; and dear brother of the late Donald (Jan, living) Duritsch.

Dave was a proud graduate of St. Xavier High School (class of 1961). He furthered his education at the University of Cincinnati where he earned his undergraduate degree in 1965 and following, obtained an MBA from Xavier University in 1966. His academic accomplishments laid the foundation for his successful career and inspired those around him.

Dave was also a devoted family man. When his children were young, he cherished his role as a coach for their sports teams and as a scout leader with St. James Boy Scouts. Dave instilled a sense of adventure and responsibility in many young lives. In his leisure, Dave found great joy in watching old Westerns and relishing the tales of cowboys. He was an avid fan of St. Xavier High School Football and a true connoisseur of ice cream with a particular fondness for Graeter’s Black Raspberry Chip.

Dave leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will be forever remembered by those blessed enough to have known him.

Visitation in his honor will take place on Thursday, December 12th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home, 5527 Cheviot Rd. (45247). Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday, December 13th at 11:00am at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 5222 North Bend Rd. (45247) with interment at St. James Cemetery.
