It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pastor David Iniguez, Sr. Born to Alejo and Carmen Hernandez Iniguez on December 17th, 1928 in Yahualica, Jalisco, Mexico, Pastor Iniguez passed away peacefully at Haven of Douglas on January 24th, 2025, at the age of 96.
David’s life was one of unwavering faith and service. He gave his heart to Jesus in his early 20’s and from that moment on, his life was dedicated to spreading the love and message of Jesus Christ. His passion for the gospel and his commitment to living a life of purpose and integrity guided his path as he served his ministry with great devotion, touching the lives of many with his wisdom, kindness, and compassion.
Pastor Iniguez was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Olivia Iniguez, and their granddaughter Danielle Elizabeth. He was also preceded in death by a brother and sister. He is survived by his loving children; David Iniguez Jr., Isela (Louis) Hughes, Anna (Michael) Molina, Sandra (David) Ybarra, Dalia Montoya, Gemma (Fernando) Quinonez, Mario (Josefina) Soto, and Isaura (Eddie+) Forrest, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family, both immediate and spiritual, were the foundation of his life and his love for them remained constant through every season of his journey.
He leaves behind a legacy of faithfulness, humility, and love. His influence as a pastor, mentor, and friend will forever be felt by those whose lives he touched. His passion for the Kingdom of God, his timeless service to his community, and his steadfast devotion to the Lord will continue to inspire generations to come.
In his final months, Pastor Iniguez found a place of peace, “a true haven”, at Haven of Douglas. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate and loving staff there, who provided him a safe and nurturing environment in his final days. Their care and support were a true blessing to Pastor David and his loved ones.
A private funeral service was held on February 14th, 2025 at Primera Iglesia Bautista Del Sur with Pastor Jorge Herrera officiating. The family was blessed by Pastor Herrera and the entire church congregation with overwhelming love, support, and prayers during their time of grief. The kindness and compassion shown has been a true reflection of the love Pastor Iniguez devoted to his church family.
Pastor David Iniguez is now resting in the arms of His Savior. Forever free, Forever Loved. May his legacy continue to shine brightly for all who knew him.
