Obituary

David Jee's Obituary

David Jee Chapelle, 23, passed away May 16, 2025 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  David was born December 14, 2001 in Seoul, Korea and was lovingly placed in Versailles, KY at the age of 7 months. 

A 2020 graduate of Woodford County High School, David participated on the wrestling team.  He previously attended the Frankfort Christian Academy where was on the golf and archery teams. He also played soccer for WYSA.  David was a member of the Capital City Christian Church.  He loved cooking and was inspired to be a chef. 

David is survived by his parents, Don and Carmela (Englert) Chapelle of Versailles, KY; his older sister, Katelynn Chapelle of Hickory, NC; his younger brother, Michael Chapelle of Lexington, KY; paternal grandmother, Marge Chapel of Walnut Creek, CA; five aunts, three uncles, and numerous cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William Chapel; maternal grandparents, Louis and Dorothy Englert; an aunt and an uncle. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 12 noon – 3:00 PM followed by the service beginning at 3:00 PM Friday at Ninevah Christian Church, 1195 Ninevah Road, Lawrenceburg, KY.  Will Cooper will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. 

Following the burial on Friday, everyone is invited to join David's family for a meal at Ninevah Christian Church fellowship hall.
