David E. Laszewski, 79, of LaSalle, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023, at his home.
Cremation has been accorded. There will be no services per his wishes. A private burial will be held at a later date.
The Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is honored to be assisting David’s family at this time.
David was born on April 26, 1943 to Henry and Nellie Laszewski of DePue. He graduated from DePue High School and Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. He also studied management at Aurora University. He married Linda Lou Harmon on July 4, 1964 at the DePue Congregational U.C.C.
David retired from Caterpillar in Aurora after 38 years. He worked as an hourly worker, a foreman, and a general foreman. He enjoyed golf at Spring Creek Golf Course in Spring Valley with his good buddies. That was the highlight of his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, of LaSalle; his daughter, Lisa Westerman of LaSalle; his son, David H. (Kelly) Laszewski of Sandwich; three grandchildren, Michael Westerman of Anaheim, CA, and Hope and Noah Laszewski of Sandwich; and one great grandchild, Neytiri Westerman, of Anaheim, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Shirley Michalski and Barbara Marshall.
Memorials may be of the donor’s choice.
