Not sure what to say?

Mr. Mercurius was my client. I learned his name ao fast when i met him because it was different and he was different. He was so pleasant. He loved his family so much. I loved seeing him at the bank. He inspires me to work hard and love my family. I learned he passed away today from his daughter and it broke my heart. When I heard her say his name I was in denial, even though I know I've only heard that name from one person before. I looked his name up to see any stories about what happened...

I am deeply sorry for the loss of Mr. Mercurius.

I am so sorry for the loss of Mr. Mercurius, I was on the road with him last Friday 1/22/21 at the accident, I was so sorry this happen to Mr. Mercurius and his family. I stayed with his son until the family arrived. This has hurt my heart for this family. May God give this family peace and love during this difficult time. As I arrived to Mr. Mercurius on the scene, I prayed over him for peace and for his family. I am so sorry for this loss of your loved one.

David's Obituary

Mr. David Norman Mercurius, 54 of Charlotte, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021.  He was born on May 10, 1966 in Georgetown, Guyana to Hector & Carmen Mercurius.  He attended public school and graduated from Saint Joseph High School, where he was a track star.  He was a loving husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, cousin, and uncle.

David migrated to Brooklyn, New York at age 19, where he met his wife Patricia Diane.  They married, started a family, and resided in Queens, New York until moving to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1997.  David worked at Key Food for many years while in New York.  In Charlotte, he was employed as an HVAC technician at Carrier Corporation for over 20 years before retiring.  In 2020, David ventured into entrepreneurship with his son.  They co-owned Exhaust Hood Pros, providing commercial fire protection for restaurants.  David proudly worked alongside his son until the time of passing.

David was a loving family man and the "cool" uncle.  He enjoyed working on cars, cooking traditional Guyanese dishes for family, and most of all playing his music...soca and Bob Marley, in particular.  David was always ready to "whine up" anywhere!  All he needed was good food, great music, and family, and it would be party.

David leaves to mourn his wife: Patricia Diane; children: Dominique (Milas) and David (Kelli); niece he raised; Nicole (Brian), his grandchildren: Jaylen, Allie, Jayceon, and Marlee; sisters: Sandra (Pamela) and Kathy (Calvin); brother: Hector Jr. and Barnie (Jean); step-sisters: Jan, Roriana (Nick), Kaieteur-Judy; step-brother: James; sister-in-law: Roxanne, brother-in-laws: Frederick (Teresa), Rodney, Corey, and Byron, his stepmothers: Evelyn and Betty; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Hector and Carmen; mother-in-law: Rosemary; his sister-in-law: Susan, cousins: Desmond and John; uncle: Wilfred, and aunt; Doreene.

David will be missed dearly by family and friends for his joyful personality and generosity.  In the words of David, "One Love."
