David N.'s Obituary

SALEM – David N. Bricker, age 71 of Salem died at 1:18 a.m. Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Salem Regional Medical Center. He was born February 16, 1947 in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Archie L. and Miriam (Dow) Bricker.   David worked for 40 years in the metals industry and retired from Butech Bliss in 2017. He was a 1965 graduate of Salem High School, a graduate of Kent State University with a business degree, and a graduate of Youngstown State University with a mechanical engineering degree. David was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Salem Elks Lodge 305, UCT 590, Salem Hills Golf Club and the Association for Iron and Steel Technology. He enjoyed playing cards, golfing and crossword puzzles. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and loved being “PopPop” to his grandchildren.   Survivors include his wife, Lois J. (Yakubek) Bricker, whom he married June 24, 1967; two daughters, Kerry Ann (Bob) Thomas of Salem; Molly Sue (Gary) DeLand of Simpsonville, SC; two sisters, Barbara (Vince) Bober of Rochester, NH and Susan (Ken) Kyser of Salem; a brother, John Bricker of Tampa, FL and six grandchildren, Madison, Anna and Avery Thomas and Zoe, Emma and Luke DeLand.   Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Pete Fowler officiating. Calling hours will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the funeral home.   Memorial donations may be made to Salem First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Avenue, Salem, OH 44460.
