David Lee Patterson, a devoted husband, loving father, and a dear member of the Pulaski community, passed away on August 19, 2025. Born in Pulaski, VA, on July 2, 1952, to the late Blanche and L.E. Patterson, David’s life was defined by dedication and purpose. After graduating from Pulaski High School in 1971, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the Air Force. Following his honorable service, he pursued further education at New River Community College before embarking on a distinguished 47-year profession as a repairman at Volvo. For nearly half a century, David was a pillar of reliability and diligent work, earning the profound respect of his colleagues and the admiration of all who worked with him.
David was a man who truly embodied a life of righteousness living as a constant example of compassion and generosity. His wisdom and strength of character were a source of inspiration to all who knew him. He lived a life that modeled his Savior, Jesus Christ, embodying the virtues of humility and grace.
His ultimate unwavering commitment was the cornerstone of his 48- year marriage to his beloved wife, Connie. Their honorable union was a testament of enduring love, and a shared devotion to their family who he championed and took immense pride in. His unconditional love created lasting memories that his family will cherish forever. His legacy lives on in their lives, and they will carry his spirit of love and resilience forward.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Blanche and L.E. Patterson, and his sisters, Berkeley Taylor and Joyce Kimbrough. He is survived by his wife: Connie Lee Patterson, his four children: Cassandra Patterson, David Gabriel Patterson (wife Faustina), Kevin Patterson (wife Lindsay), and Charmaine Patterson. Also, he is survived by His five grandchildren: Haven, Ayden, Jonathan, Truth, and Julianna . Additionally, He is survived by his two siblings: Reverend Douglas Patterson and Virginia Bolden and a cherished host of nieces and nephews.
While we mourn the loss of such an exceptional man, we celebrate the life he beautifully lived—a life of purpose, love, and unshakable faith. David’s memory will continue to be a source of inspiration, reminding us to love unconditionally, serve selflessly, and find joy in the simple, precious moments of life. His light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, 1:00PM at First Baptist Church 220 Magazine Street, Pulaski. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
