David Wayne Reents

David Wayne Reents,75, passed away on Sunday, April 7,2024 at the Royal C. Johnson VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

David Wayne Reents, was born on October 13, 1948, the son of Don and Arlene Reents.

He attended and received his education at Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD

Dave later joined the Navy where he served for four years.

He was united in marriage to Diane in 1970 and was blessed with two children Shelly and Jason.

Dave was a hard worker and held many jobs over the years before settling with First Rate Excavate where he worked until his retirement.

Dave would meet Bonnie Bolan after both their spouses had passed away, and they would marry in 2011.

Dave was a very skilled woodworker. You could see the skill and love he had for the trade just by looking at the pieces he created, which were beyond beautiful. His pieces were one of a kind and only someone with his level of patience would be able to do.

He was also one of the most loving and humble men you would ever meet, He lived life to the fullest and brought love and joy to many people.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Shelly (Doug) Shelly’s children Kiley and Kody, Jason (Jill) and their child Kennedy; adopted daughter, Lafern; stepdaughter, Barbie, Angela, and Craig; siblings, Doug, Donna, and Will; ten grandkids, three great grandchildren; along with countless foster kids.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; and first wife Diane.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD with burial to follow at Hills of Rest Cemetery.
