David Dean Riddick, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, entered into eternal rest on January 22, 2026, at the age of 69, at Autumn Care of Suffolk. During his time there, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, finding peace and assurance in his faith.
Born on January 12, 1957, in Nansemond County, David was the cherished son of the late Mary L. Riddick and Ernest Riddick. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ernest L. Sessoms; his sister, Mary E. Riddick; and his beloved niece, Teresa Riddick.
David leaves to cherish his memory his loving brothers, Jessie Riddick (Deneen), Norris Riddick, and Richard Riddick, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends who were fortunate to know and love him.
In his younger years, David found great joy on the basketball court, where he was known as a force to be reckoned with. His passion for the game reflected his competitive spirit and love for life. He was a dedicated worker for many years, employed at the Coca-Cola Plant and the String Factory, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic.
To those who knew him best, David was more than a friend—he was family. His presence, laughter, and spirit will be deeply missed. Though he is no longer with us in physical form, his memory will remain forever in our hearts. We take comfort in the moments shared, the love given, and the legacy of memories that will continue to live on.
