David D. RutkowskiOf Newfane, husband of Carol Rettberg Rutkowski entered into rest on Thursday January 30, 2014 at the Niagara Hospice House. David was born on June 9, 1944 in Buffalo, NY. Son of the late Casimer Rutkowski and Susan Ledwandowski Rutkowski. David and Carol married on September 4, 1965. David last worked at Kings Express in Cheektowaga as a Fleet Maintenance Manager. He enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. Father of David (Brenda) Rutkowski of Birch Run, MI, Ann Marie (James) Horning and Sharon (Mark) Gross both of Newfane, NY. Brother of Elizabeth Sypniewski of Spring Hill, FL, Mary Ann Makowski of Medina, OH and the late Patricia Zarisky and Norman Rutkowski. Grandfather of Alissa and Travis Rutkowski, Connor and Brooke Horning, Tyler and Hailey Gross. No prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on FRIDAY February 7, 2014 at St. Brendan on the Lake (St. Bridget's Site, Ewings Rd.) at 11AM. Burial will be held in St. Charles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers; donations would be appreciated by the family to Niagara Hospice House 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094 or Newfane Community Food Pantry 3455 Ewings Rd. Newfane, NY 14108.
