Sorry to hear about David’s passing just found out today.

Dear Joan, Mike, David and Bobby,... We are so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. He was always so kind and ready to chat as we crossed our neighborly paths. We will miss his smiles and waves, and will think of him often. Prayers and God Bless all of you, Love Jim and Terry Edge

Smitty was a true friend of mine more like a brother during the difficult years of our teens and beyond.We had so many amazing times together as he became our band roadie/manager/soundman for both Sam H. and Banshee.For several years he was always there for me and I will never for forget the great times we shared.Rest in peace old Buddy.

So sorry to hear about Smitty. He was a great guy and we had a BLAST in our teen years. Great times. See you in heaven.

Always was a sweetheart to me and an amazing pappy to kai. We will forever miss you❤. Until we meet again keep watch over us and and baby girl. Ill keep one burning for ya!

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow Jo. I remember he always wanted to start up a business of deer jerky! He always was a kind soul to everyone he met. No one was a stranger to him. RIP Smithy

David Lee Smith Sr.

      David L.Smith, Sr. 72, of Warwood, West Virginia, died on Sunday, August 3, 2025 in WVU Wheeling Hospital.

      He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, on June 24,1953 a son of  the late Robert and Laura Foster Edge.

He was a graduate of Brooke County High School, and a 33 year employee of First Energy Power Plant in Powhatan,

Ohio and retired from Northwood Health Systems, Wheeling,WV.  David was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a Protestant by faith.

       Surviving are his wife Joan Blake Smith; three sons: Robert E. Smith (Amy) of Beech Bottom, WV.; David L.Smith Jr.

of Wheeling WV and Michael G.Smith of Moundsville, WV.; one brother, Sam Edge (Kelly) of Kentucky; one sister,

Debbie Smith, of Wellsburg, WV.  David is also survived by five granddaughters: Kai Smith, Kearstin Smith, Lilly Smith,

Annabella Smith, and Daisy Mae Smith;  as well as his two pups which he loved very much: Jonnie and Maggie.

        There will be no visitation and final disposition will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.  Arrangements

have been entrusted to Warren Funeral Home, Flushing, Ohio.  Please  leave memories and condolences through
