Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry for your loss Beth and family. My love, prayers and thoughts are with you. Let God guide you through this tough time.

So sorry to hear of David’s passing. Worked with David years ago at Methodist . He was always so nice to work with no matter what the case was.
My prayers are with all his family! I know he will be greatly missed!

My thoughts and prayers are with your family

Sending love and prayers! A great man!

I took care of David while he was at select. He was my favorite patient by far. Always had a joke for me and I always had one for him!
The sweetest man. May you rest easy buddy.

To my special brother. From the moment we met in second grade we were fast friends stirring things up and laughing at everything until our stomachs hurt. Then on to Southern Jr High, OHS, and WKU. We had special times, special forever friends. You know how much we love you. Beth, you’re an angel. We love you. Thank you so much for taking care of this goof ball we love so much. Susan and Bernie, I am so very sorry for the loss of this special soul. Kara and my thoughts are with you all

I am so very sorry for the tough battles David waged and to learn of his passing. My heart hurts for you, Beth and for all your family who love him most. May he rest in peace and may light perpetual shine upon him ❤

I am so sorry to hear of David's passing. I was able to enjoy time with David on the golf course on several occasions. He definitely had a quick whit about him. Great guy to be with. He will be missed. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.

David was one in a million. We graduated from nursing school together. Worked the night shift in the ER during the snowstorm of 1978. Most of all I still laugh when he gave me the nickname Bucket. Hugs and Prayers to you all during this time of grief. Becky Galloway

DAVID's Obituary

In Loving Memory of a Cherished Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend

David Strawn, born March 10, 1955, in Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, October 4, 2025, surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones.

David dedicated his life to caring for others, serving as a nurse anesthetist for 42 years at Deaconess Methodist Hospital in Henderson, Kentucky.

David was the beloved husband of Beth, with whom he shared 47 beautiful years of marriage.  Their enduring partnership was marked by love, respect, and a shared joy for family.  David was a proud and devoted father to Whitney Strawn, Aaron Strawn, and Jordan Strawn.  His eyes would light up whenever he spoke of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, his face reflecting the deep pride and affection he held for each of them.

An avid golfer, David found his “happy place” on the golf course, playing every day he could—except Mondays, when the course was closed.  Golf brought David immense joy, laughter, camaraderie, and countless cherished memories with friends and fellow players.  His love for the game was matched only by the warmth and humor he brought to those around him.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Janice Strawn.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beth of Henderson, Kentucky; his three children, Whitney Strawn of Henderson, Kentucky, Aaron (Cecilia) Strawn of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Jordan (Kendra) Strawn of Henderson, Kentucky; his brother, Bernie (Jan) Strawn of Nashville, Tennessee; his sister, Susan Hall of Owensboro, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Tanner Bridwell, Addison Kirkwood, and Zoe Kirkwood of Henderson, Kentucky; Carter Strawn, Wagoner Strawn, Caroline Strawn, and Wathen Strawn of Owensboro, Kentucky; and Jack Strawn of Henderson, Kentucky; and a great-grandson, Rafe Bridwell of Henderson, Kentucky.

A celebration of life will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Mark Weaver will officiate.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

David’s legacy is one of compassion, laughter, and unconditional love.  He leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory and friends who will miss his generosity and wit.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in David’s honor to St. Anthony’s Hospice (https://stanthonyshospice.org/donate) or BrightFocus Macular Degeneration Fund (https://donate.brightfocus.org/mdr/donate).

David’s life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and joy.  May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love he gave so freely.
