David Leon Wilcher, Sr., 63, husband of 37 years to Kimberly Hoskins Wilcher, passed from this life Thursday, July 24, 2020 at U.K. Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Born February 26, 1957 in Louisville, KY, David was the son of the late Carl Edward Wilcher, Sr. and Irene Paris Wilcher.
Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by a son, David Leon “D.J.” Wilcher, Jr. and a sister, Carolyn Wilcher.
David was a graduate of Western High School and a former employee of Topy America, Inc. in Frankfort, KY, and a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church. David was a huge collector but his greatest treasure was witnessing about Jesus Christ and the love for his family.
Including his wife, David is survived by three children, Lucas Wilcher, Kathy Ethington (Kip), and Linda Dadisman, all of Lawrenceburg; four grandchildren, Konner and Kyndall Ethington, Levi and Lexi Dadisman; and his siblings, Donna Wilcher, Carl Wilcher, Jr. (Calla), and Debbie Bast (Roger).
Visitation will be 5 – 7 pm Monday, July 27th followed by the funeral service beginning at 7:00 pm Monday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Dr. Mike Hamrick will officiate the service. Burial will be Tuesday with a committal service at 2:00 pm at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery pavilion.
Memorials in memory of David are suggested to the Sand Spring Baptist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 166, Lawrenceburg, KY 40342.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, KY. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.ritchieandpeach.com.
