William Davis “Davy” Warford, Jr., 63, husband of Charlotte Marie Stratton Warford, passed away on January 1, 2026, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort, KY. Born June 14, 1962, in Frankfort, KY, he was the son of the late William Davis “Onions” Warford, Sr., and Ida Louise “Boo Boo” Hawthorne Warford.

Davy was a faithful and devoted member of First Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, where he served for many years with the church’s TV Ministry. He dearly loved his church and took pride in serving in any way he could. A graduate of Anderson County High School, Davy retired from the Maintenance Department for the City of Lawrenceburg after many years of dedicated service. He was also a member of Anderson Masonic Lodge #90 and had previously been employed at Florida Tile in Lawrenceburg.

Well known and deeply loved throughout the community, Davy was affectionately known as the “Burgoo King.” He proudly prepared burgoo for the Anderson County Burgoo Festival, carrying on a cherished family recipe whose history meant a great deal to him. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially mowing, and was a former volunteer firefighter with the Anderson County Fire Department. Davy was a hardworking, strong-willed man who always provided for and took care of his family. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren, and was their constant supporter. A passionate University of Kentucky Wildcats fan, Davy leaves behind a legacy of service, dedication, and love for his family and community.

Including his wife, Charlotte, Davy is survived by his daughter, Brandy Marie Warford (Neil) Hicks of Lawrenceburg; his stepdaughter, Kesha Stratton of Lawrenceburg; his grandchildren, Hunter Thomas Hicks and Rylynn Marie Hicks; his step-grandson, Nicholas Felix; and his nephew, Austin Michael Warford.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Michael Warford.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, 111 North Main Street, Lawrenceburg, KY, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with Dr. Robert Ehr and Bro. Noal Cotton, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery, 2110 Harrodsburg Road, Lawrenceburg, KY. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

Masonic rites will be observed prior to the service at First Baptist Church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gregg Brown, Mark Warford, George Hanks, Kenny Sea, Joey Huddleston, Eddie Reed, and Richard Spencer. Honorary bearers will be Neil Hicks, Hunter Thomas Hicks, and Jo Curran.
