Not sure what to say?

I remember Aunt Dee Dee fondly ( sister to my beloved Aunt Donna). A gentle soul and fellow animal lover. Rest in peace. Karen Vilas

I taught with Dee at St. John School. If I heard barking when I was working in my classroom on weekends, I knew I would soon encounter Dee and her dog as they passed by on the way to her classroom.
Dee was a wonderful dedicated teacher and a good friend to fellow faculty members. Although we had lost touch over the years, I have never forgotten Dee's kindness and thoughtfulness, as well as her love of animals and music!

Deanna's Obituary

Deanna L. Dutro, age 85, passed away peacefully February 5, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Dee was preceded in death by her father, Bert Dutro; her mother, Mary Louise Wenstrup Dutro; her sister, Donna Marie Vilas; her brother-in-law, Mathew Vilas; and her sister-in-law, Sondra Rouse Dutro. She is survived by her brother, Daniel G. Dutro, and her Vilas and Dutro nieces and nephews.

Dee loved animals. She was guardian to her dogs, Mystery and Floxy; her cats, Gotcha, Moochie, and Moochie II; and a number of birds and fish, all of whom benefited from her gentleness and care.

Dee lived a life of service. She was a member of the Sisters of Mercy, a middle school teacher at St. Johns Deer Park, a piano instructor, and a vet tech. She finished her career as an office administrator with Aegis Protective Services, a company founded by her brother and sister-in-law. When not working, she provided care and companionship to her parents as they navigated getting older.

Dee’s sweetness and kindness touched all she met. Always positive in outlook, she brightened the days of her many friends, relatives, and neighbors. Dee loved the Lord and the life He gave her. May she dance and sing in the joy of His salvation.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Dee’s life will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:00 am at The Community of the Good Shepherd, 8815 E. Kemper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the ASPCA or the American Cancer Society.
