Deborah Jean Slavens

Deborah Jean Slavens age 71 of Watertown, died Thursday morning, Sept. 11, 2025 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.  Born April 25, 1954 in Nashville, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Louise Floyd Keen and Harry Mize and was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Garrett.

Deborah was an administrative assistant for several manufacturers and attended the Soldiers of Light Ministries. She was a very devoted believer and Christian.

Deborah is survived by her sons, William (Christy) Slavens of Watertown and Brian Slavens of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Shiloh, Zacchaeus and Hadassah; sister, Geneva (Jerry) Poss of Murfreesboro; nephew, Billy Fitzgerald and niece, Tina Durgin.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025 at Hunter Funeral Home with visitation from Noon till service time on Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to assist the family.
