Amelia Ortiz Herrera, born June 15, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2026, at the age of 83. She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Herrera; son, Roland; parents, Joe and Guadalupe Ortiz; sisters, Clara Casillas, Janie Herrera, and Carlie; brothers, Juan, Mario, and Fred.

She is survived by her son, Ralph and wife Francis, Johnny and wife Rosa, Hector and wife Magie, Gilbert, Ernest, Oscar and wife Christina; brother, Albert and wife Charlie; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; extended family and friends. Her presence in our lives will be dearly missed.

Procession will depart Hillcrest on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at 11:15 AM for a 12:00 PM mass at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in St. Hedwig, Texas.
