Della Delores "Nani"'s Obituary

Della Delores “Nani”  Klobuchar

Age 92, of Munster , IN, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025.  She is survived by her loving children, Kimberly (David) Pastrick, Stephen (Tonya) Klobuchar, Margaret Ann (Kevin Kelly) Klobuchar, Annette (late, John) Srode; cherished grandchildren, David John (Katie), Michael (Lorenza) and Ryan (Zayra); John, Tara (Billy) and Stella; Grace and Anne; also 11 precious great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Margaret Bell; loving son, David Klobuchar, and brothers, Leroy and Ron Myers.

Della was born in Evansville, Indiana, and later resided in East Chicago. She built a full and dedicated career, retiring as a property manager with Pardee Corp. in California. She was also the proprietor of Big John’s Tavern, Indiana Harbor and a former employee of the East Chicago Police Department.

A woman of many talents and passions, Della was an avid tennis enthusiast and a gifted violinist who performed in concerts. She enjoyed the quiet joys of crossword puzzles and fellowship of card games with family and friends. Her life was filled with love, resilience, and devotion to those she held dear.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Solan – Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN. 46375. On Saturday, October 4, 2025, Della will lie in state at St. Thomas More Church, located at 8501 Calumet Ave., Munster, IN. 46321, at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jeffrey Burton officiating. Burial to follow at St. John / St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond, IN.

Della will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and the joy she brought to those around her.
