Della Bernice (McNabb) Hines, 90, of Iowa Park, Texas, died at Sheridan Medical Lodge in Burkburnett, Texas, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. She was born on July 17, 1935, in Vernon, Texas to Frank and Stella (Leveritt) McNabb.
She graduated from Vernon High School in 1953 and was married that same year to Kenneth Hines on September 22nd. She was a homemaker and active member of First Baptist Church of Iowa Park and served in the cradle roll and benevolence ministries. She and the whole family were involved with the Builders for Christ Mission Ministry. Bernice was a wonderful homemaker and cook. She loved her children and relished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hines Sr.; parents, Frank and Stella; two sons, Kenneth Hines, Jr., and Terry Hines; brother, Eugene McNabb; and great-granddaughter Avery Solorio.
She is survived by her children, Steven Hines of Wichita Falls, TX, Kathy (Hines) Simons and husband Mark of Burkburnett, TX, and Lori (Hines) Sanders of Burkburnett, TX; sister, Barbara (McNabb) Methvin and husband Gene of Moore, OK; sister-in-law, Jeannie McNabb of Wichita Falls, TX; grandchildren, Andrew Simons and wife Lauren of Louisville, KY, Jason Hines and wife Courtney of Iowa Park, TX, Kendi (Simons) Cox and husband Curtis of Tecumseh, OK, Jared Sanders and wife Molly of Iowa Park, TX, and Kaitlyn (Sanders) Solorio and husband Eli of Electra, TX; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 12, 2026, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Iowa Park, Texas. The funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 AM with Pastor Josh Fields of First Baptist Church of Iowa Park and Pastor Mark Simons of Jan Lee Baptist Church of Burkburnett will officiate. Burial will be at Eastview Memorial Cemetery in Vernon, TX at 2:30 PM. Pall Bearers are Andrew Simons, Jason Hines, Jared Sanders, Curtis Cox, Eli Solorio, Jeff Sanders, and Jeff Bradford. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.
The family wants to thank the nurses and staff of Sheridan Medical Lodge for their compassionate care of Bernice both while she was alive and after she passed away.
