We are saddened to loose the anchor to our McClure Family ties. I have so many fond memories of Uncle Delno. He was a good man. We need more like him.Our thoughts and prayers are with with Aunt Mary, Caroline, Kent, Delno Jr.s family, Kimberly, Travis, Tracy , Ariel and families. As well as his heartbroken sisters my mother Eva and Sherry. Love you all.

Sorry to learn of the passing of my good friend and fellow Sheriff. As the retired Pickaway County Sheriff Delno and I worked many cases together. He was a great Sheriff and a true gentleman. He is gone but sure not forgotten. Dwight E. Radcliff, Retired Sheriff after 48 years service.

On behalf of Puz and Ival's family,we want you all to know how very sorry we are to hear about Delano. He was a great man, sheriff and friend to our family for many years and we will never forget him. Prayers for comfort and peace for Mary and all his family!

Delno was the best Sheriff Vinton County ever had. He was a man of standards and integrity. He will be missed.

Obituary

Delno's Obituary

Delno L. McClure Sr., 85, of McArthur, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.  He was born March 31, 1933 in Vinton County, son of the late Kenneth L. and Thelma Diehl McClure.  Delno was married to Mary M. Bolton McClure, who survives.

He retired as the Vinton County Sheriff and from Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home.  Delno was a Korean Conflict Army Veteran, a member of the McArthur VFW Post #5299 and was a trustee who attended Mt. Olive Community Church.

Along with his wife Mary, Delno is survived by his son, Kent A. McClure of McArthur; daughter, Caroline L. Cottrill of McArthur; grandchildren, Travis, Kimberly, Tracy, Dalton and Lexie; five great grandchildren, Ariel, Isaiah, Emmerson, Haydon and Layton and sisters, Eva Ankrom of McArthur and Sherry Zimmerman of McArthur.

In addition to his parents, Delno was preceded in death by his son, Delno L. McClure Jr.; sister, Violet Molihan and brothers, Raymond, Kenneth and Robert McClure.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, April 30, 2018 in the Garrett-Cardaras Funeral Home, 201 W. High St., McArthur.  Delno will be cremated after the service and inurnment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Vinton County, at a later date.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Delno L. McClure to Mt. Olive Community Church, 30116 Goosecreek Rd., McArthur, Ohio 45651.
