Attica - Delores M. (Casey) Merrill, 85, Attica, passed away in the Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 12:20 a.m. following an extended illness.Delores was born in Knox County, Indiana on March 22, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Eford Carlton and Pearl Matilda (Faught) Casey. Delores was raised and attended school in Bicknell, IN. She later lived in Detroit, MI, Warren County and in Attica since 1986.Delores had formerly worked at the Warren County Home, RMC in Attica, the Veterans Home and more recently for Home Healthcare at the Home Hospital in Lafayette before retiring in 2005.Delores was a active member of the Attica Christian Church. She served in the youth group and also in the helping hands. She enjoyed crocheting and doing needle point. She enjoyed playing euchre. Her favorite pastime was spoiling her grandchildren.On July 16, 1950 Delores married Raymond L. Merrill in Knox County, IN.Delores leaves behind her husband, Raymond of 68 years along with seven children, John Merrill, Hoopeston, IL; Don Merrill, Attica; Carl (Karen) Merrill, Williamsport; Judy (Jack) Crowder, Attica; Jean (Scott) Bales, Williamsport; Ron (Debbie) Merrill, Goldsboro, NC and Charles “Chuck” Merrill, Lafayette; a sister, Frieda Buck, Sandborn, IN; two sister-in-laws, Rosemary Casey, Indianapolis and Grace Casey, Pasadena, CA; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and a great great-grandchild. She was preceded by her sister, Gladys Cameron and seven brothers, Franklin, Kenneth, Edgar “Dub”, Roscoe, Virgil, Maynard and Robert Casey.Friends may call at the Attica Christian Church, 411 E. Sycamore St., on Wednesday, January 9th, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bob Elness officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Christian Church.
