Mrs. Delorise Wright Rhodes, daughter of the late Thomas Wright and Mattie Lee Davis Wright was born on May 28, 1960 and entered into eternal rest at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina on October 8, 2021.
Delorise grew up in Vance, South Carolina. She was educated in the Orangeburg County public school system and graduated from Holly Hill-Roberts High School.
At an early age, she became a member of Rock Hill A.M.E. Church in Vance, South Carolina.
Delorise was employed by several different restaurants as a cook.
She was united in marriage with Mr. Joseph Rhodes.
Delorise was a very kind- hearted person that was well known and respected y many people in the community. We thank God for all the joy and laughter she brought to us.
She was preceded in death by: two sisters, Vernell Wright and Bernice Wright Sims; one brother, Gerald Wright and a nephew, Fredrick Wright.
Delorise, affectionately known as Lois, Bay and Lil Lady leaves to cherish precious memories: her husband of over 35 years, Joseph Rhodes, of the home; three sons, Timothy (Yolanda) Wright, of Sumter, SC, Stevenson Wright, of Bowman, SC and Charlie Wright, of the home; two daughters, Laquan Wright, of Ladson, SC and Stacey Wright, of the home; seven sisters: Vernette Wright, Jeanette Wright, Elizabeth Wright, Barbara (Lonnie) Benjamin, all of Vance, SC, Louvern, Wright, of Holly Hill, SC, Leatha Wright, of Cross, SC and Brenda Gadson, of Eutawville, SC; three brothers, Thomas Lee Wright, of Orangeburg, SC, Melvin Wright, of Honolulu, HI and Andrew (Shavonne) Wright, of Vance, SC; thirteen grandchildren; one aunt, Leatha Ann Wright, of Detroit, MI; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Rhodes, of Santee, SC; one brother-in-law, Hazel Rhodes, of Connecticut; two special nieces, Elizabeth Wright and Angela Wright and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
