Not sure what to say?

Dennis was a fine young man who lived his life in a way that made Aunt Lisa and Uncle Brian very proud. He was a devoted family man who was beloved by his parents, brother, wife and precious children. He will be missed dearly by all that got to know him.

Megan's guy... when I saw her profile you both spend time until marriage and 3 children. There is lots great pics all of you since you got in the hospital, I wish I come and prayer for your whole family, me and friend... You have blessing your wife and children. I will see you in heaven. Hugs

Den was a kind, loving, generous, funny person who is gone too soon. His absence has left a huge hole in my heart I can only try to fill with precious memories of him and our time spent together filled with fun, laughter, love and hugs and kisses. I will always remember his funny jokes and impressions and his love of playing the acoustic guitar and listening to John Mayer with him. He will live on in his beautiful children. I miss him greatly and will miss him and think of him every day...

Obituary

Dennis's Obituary

Dennis William Epling of Leesburg, Virginia — a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend — passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him on August 10, 2025, at the age of 34.

He was born on July 18th, 1991 in Houston, Texas to James and Deborah Epling.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Megan; their three children, twins Winnie and Easton, and their youngest, Benny; his parents, James R. Epling and Deborah S. Epling; and his brother, Jimmy.

Dennis' life was a testament to his passions and his love for those around him, especially, his wife Megan. Dennis was a bit quiet and liked to stay in his comfort zone before he met Megan. However, she was able to show him how to live outside of his comfort zone. She dragged him to get-togethers, events, taught him not be afraid of a dance floor, and convinced him that hiking up a mountain at sunrise is an experience, not a chore. She showed him how to embrace the fun in life and to do it with open arms. She will now share her light and life in honor of him with their three incredible children.

He had a deep appreciation for the world around him. Dennis found peace and adventure in nature, often spending his weekends hiking new trails and kayaking with his family. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his fascination with cars. He could spend hours in the garage, a brilliant tinkerer who loved the challenge of taking things apart and putting them back together. With a natural curiosity and an inventive mind, he was always creating or fixing something, a skill that earned him the admiration of all who knew him.

A true family man, his happiest moments were spent with his loved ones, whether it was a simple dinner, a vigorous hike, or a family vacation. His presence brought a unique light into every room, and his laugh was a source of comfort to all who knew him.

A private burial service will be held for the family at Hillsboro Cemetery.

Dennis' work with an incredible support of Goodwill of Greater Washington's mission drove his kindness and giving nature.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Goodwill - Greater Washington in Dennis’ memory.
