Dennis's Obituary

Dennis Lee Hershey, aged 72, passed away October 10, 2025, at his residence in Greenville. He was born May 28, 1953,in Poplar Bluff, a son of Bob and Daphne (Twidwell) Hershey. 

​He was a 1972 graduate of Greenville High School and worked for many years as co-manager of the family owned convenience store and gas station in Greenville. Dennis will always be remembered for the loving care he gave his aging mother during the last decade of her life. In retirement he enjoyed being apart of the weekly gatherings at Dan’s Barber Shop in Greenville. 

​He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Greenville and left a testimony of knowing Christ as his personal Savior. 

​Dennis is survived by his sister, Mary Ann (Richard) Crites of Greenville, two daughters, Tammy Johns of Farmington and Jennifer Comstock of Wellington, FL, two nieces, Amber (Matt) Sturgeon of Greenville and Mandy (Ron) Sutton of Patterson, great nephews and niece, Cooper, Parker and Mia Sturgeon and Thatcher and Drake Sutton, six grandchildren, Sadi (Kaniel), Keith (Maddie), Jenna (Ryan), Joshua (Jazmyn), ReyeAnna and Grayson, six great-grandchildren, Braxton, Rylee, Oakley, Gracie, Evelyn and Olivia. 

​He was preceded in death by his parents, his niece Brandi Beckett, one grandchild, Baby Earle and two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Baby Bollinger.

Visitation was held on October 12, 2025 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Greenville. Funeral services followed at 2:00 PM, at the funeral home chapel with Bro. Dan Ross officiating. Special recorded songs by the Ozark Harmony Boys were played for the service with Payton Twidwell, Forrest Twidwell, Scott Twidwell, Matt Sturgeon, Jeff Glass, and Ron Sutton serving as pall bearers.

 Interment was in the Greenville Cemetery.
