Deon Lamar McDowell, Jr., 1, of Bladenboro, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Deborah Ann Long.
He is survived by his parents, Brittany Benson of Bladenboro and Deon Lamar McDowell, Sr.; a sister, Stormi Baker of Bladenboro; aunts and uncles, Austin and Jeana Jernigan of Tabor City, Colby and Peyton Jernigan, also of Tabor City, and Heather and Tyler Nicholson of Greenville, TN, Kenneth Barnes of Greys Creek, Kaleigh Benson of Bladenboro, Terrance Banks of Elizabethtown, and Quran Lennon, Jr. of Elizabethtown; grandparents, Sherree and Kevin Benson of Bladenboro, JoAnn Guyton of Nakina and Crystal Banks of Elizabethtown, and Brandon McDowell of Elizabethtown; great grandparents, Rita and Eddie Benson of Bladenboro and Rose and Rome Banks of Libson; cousins, Kiara Allen of Elizabethtown and Jeremiah Smith of Elizabethtown; as well as a whole host of great aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Floyd Memorial Chapel, 809 E. 5th Street, Lumberton. Friends and family are welcome to visit the home at 404 Marshall Cain Rd., Bladenboro, NC.
