Dianne & Family We offer our sympathy and will be thinking about you and keeping you In our thoughts and prayers. Working with him at Fleming was always good. We were both Washington County boys . He played on a very good High school team from Greenleaf and also had a great smile and laugh. God´s blessings to you and you family.

Dianne & family; So sorry to see that Mr. Hatesohl has passed away. I enjoyed visiting with you both when you came to the dentist office. I let Dr. Amin know about his passing also. Prayers and thoughts are with you and family.

Derald. My memories of him are from officiating. Always smiling and a great official, mentor and friend. Thoughts and prayers for his family.

Derald's Obituary

Derald Lee Hatesohl, age 84, of Topeka passed away Monday, July 12, 2021 at Stormont Vail Hospital.  Derald was born February 24, 1937 in Greenleaf, KS the son of Erwin and Myrtle (Behrens) Hatesohl.  He graduated from Greenleaf High School in 1955.  He then graduated from Brown Mackie Business School in 1956.  Derald served in the U.S. Army serving three years and stationed in Taiwan.  Derald married Dianne Sue Krahe on June 9, 1963 at Greenleaf, KS.  He was employed by Fleming Company for over 40 years, retiring in 1999 as a Distribution Manager.  He was a 23-year member of the Kansas Sports Officials Association, officiating high school football.  He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.  Derald was an avid golfer, playing at Lake Shawnee and Forbes Golf Course.  He served as president of the Senior Men’s League.  He was a member of the Fleming Retiree Group and served as the past president. 

Derald is survived by his wife, Dianne, of over 58 years; a son, Michael Hatesohl of Lawrence; a daughter, Debra (Kevin) Mapes of Topeka; a brother, Delton Hatesohl of Concordia, KS; three granddaughters, Molly Hatesohl, Madeline “Grace” Hatesohl and Allie Mapes; a grandson, Alex Mapes; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Blatchley.

Memorial services are Monday, July 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Topeka.  Visitation will be one hour before services from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Lutheran Church and left in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.  davidsonfuneral.com
