Dianna's Obituary

Dianna J. Sorrell (nee Doty)

Age 74, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025.  She is survived by her daughters, Tammy (Peter) Manjarrez and Jennifer (Conrad) Danielewicz; seven grandchildren: Joseph Kalocinski, Reanna (fiancé Emmett Gaynor) Danielewicz, Tyler Manjarrez, Dylan (fiancé Haley Govert) Derucki, Sabby Whittfield, Brook (partner Alyssa Montes) Danielewicz and Erica Danielewicz; four great-grandchildren, Joseph Conrad Kalocinski, Addylyn Emma Morgan, Frank Derucki, and Payton Derucki; brother-in-law, William H. Sorrell; nephew, Christopher Sorrell; and best friend for over 60 years, Sheila Campbell. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 34 years, Robert Sorrell; parents, Eugene and Vera Doty; and partner, Doug Bunge.

Dianna was a graduate of Thornridge High School in Dolton, IL and lived in Florida for some time. Her love for amusement parks was legendary--Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios held special places in her heart and she reveled in the thrill of rides and the magic of those experiences.

Dianna’s exceptional cooking skill were a constant delight for her family and friends. She had an unshakeable passion for the color purple, everything from her clothing to her phone case to her décor reflected her adoration for the hue. She enjoyed old country music and found joy in computer games, particularly hidden objects and slot games, where she’d spend hours finding certain items and chasing virtual jackpots.

A natural caregiver, Dianna’s nurturing extended far beyond her own family. She cherished babysitting her grandkids and opened her home to many children, offering care and kindness with her signature warmth.

Services private and entrusted to Solan Pruzin Funeral Home.
