Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to hear about Don's passing. I have known him and his family since his father became the minister at Pine Level Baptist church.. my love and prayers for everyone .

To the entire McDougald Family. I’m so sorry to hear of Dons Passing. I know he will be missed by all. I’m thankful for his friendship through the years. I remember him allowing me to hunt and kill my first deer on his property. I know him and Charles Spurlin are having a wonderful time in heaven shooting some birds behind some of the finest dogs that Don ever raised. Don was a dog man through and through. I know we will all hang on to those wonderful memories. Sending prayers and comfort to...

I am so so sorry to hear this. Don was a fine man. Daniel and him both had a lot in common with both being in the car business. May God hold each of you tight and know that He will be your strength through this

Miss Don and quail hunting.

A good man and a great Uncle. Don will be missed by all that knew him. He loved me even though I could not shoot straight. Condolences to all that loved him.

Don's Obituary

Don McDougald, 80, of Florala, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 10, 2025.

Born on November 25, 1944 to Archie Lee McDougald and Dora Sellers McDougald, Don learned the art and joy of raising bird dogs with exceptional bloodlines from his father-a skill and passion he carried with pride throughout his life. He was not only known for the quality of his dogs but also for the care, patience, and love he poured into them.

For many years, Don worked as a car salesman, earning the trust and respect of countless customers through his genuine integrity, honesty, and dedication. Those who knew him often said that he didn't just sell cars-he built lasting friendships.

Above all, Don was a devoted family man. His wife, children, and especially his grandchildren-who lovingly called him "Pa"-were the center of his world. His home was the place where they knew there would be snacks and treats waiting. They filled his heart with joy and they were truly the light of his life.

His faith in Jesus Christ was the steady anchor that guided his steps, shaped his character, and inspired those around him. He lived with quiet strength, a servant's heart, and an unwavering trust in God's promises.

He was preceded in death by father, Archie Lee McDougald Sr; mother, Dora Sellers McDougald; brothers, Ferrell McDougald and Archie Lee McDougald Jr; sisters, Jeanette Brooks, Betty Kyser and Barbara Weeks.

He is survived by his wife, Sybil Barnes McDougald, son, Shannon McDougald who was his greatest blessing in life, daughters, Torri Rigby (Josh) and Ashley McDougald, grandchildren, Anna Rigby, Micah Rigby, Maddie Caraway, Lily Rigby and Cash Worley.

Funeral services for Don McDougald will be 3PM Wednesday August 13, 2025 at Evans Funeral Home with Jon Isaacs officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Corner Creek Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, or, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cancer Freeze, P.O. Box 92, Florala, AL 36442, in honor of Don McDougald.
