Don Michael Raines, Sr.

Don Michael “Red” Raines, Sr. passed away at University Medical Center peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the age 60. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA.

Don graduated from O. Perry Walker High School and worked as a self employed construction worker.

Son of Betty Raines Lewis and the late Wardell Lewis, Jr. Father of Don Michael (Apolonia) Raines, Jr., and Danielle Joy Raines. Brother of Michele (Shelley) Mercado, Debra (Montrell) Carey, Barbara Green, Valerie (Derwin) Wilright, and Wendell Lewis. Companion of Charlene Carter, also survived by 5 grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces, and nephews.

Relatives and friends of family also pastors, officers, and members of St. Stephen Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 10:00a.m.

Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. at the above named parlor.
