I was sadden to hear of Don's passing and am thinking of you. Don will be greatly missed by all who knew him and remembered as a trusting and caring man.

Don was a great guy that would help anyone anyway he could anytime. I worked with him for his entire NYAB career. We go back to our softball days. I am sorry I cannot make his balloon release Saturday.

Donald's Obituary

The celebration of life for Donald C. Clearo will be 2:00pm Sunday, September 11th at the Thompson Park Pavilion. A balloon release will follow the service, and all who attend are encouraged to bring their own balloon. There are no calling hours scheduled.

 

Donald passed away Sunday, September 4th at his home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County. He was 69 years old.

 

Born in Carthage November 11, 1946 he was a son to Donald O. and Nellie H. (Babcock) Clearo. He graduated from Carthage Central School in 1966, and enlisted with the United States Air Force in 1966 following graduation.

 

Following 3 years of service he was honorably discharged in 1969, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He would later move back to Watertown where he was employed as a machinist by Watertown Air Brake until his retirement in 2012.

 

On August 24, 1973 he married Beulah F. Ross in Kansas. Mrs. Clearo passed away April 14, 2008.

 

Donald is survived by 4 daughters, Debbie and Keith Fretz of Canada, Sandra Yount of Watertown, Diane Stewart of Washington, Hope Turner of Nebraska; 2 sisters, Arlene Jones of Watertown, Rosemary Clearo of Alexandria Bay; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and a large extended family.

 

Donations may be made in his name to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham Street, Watertown, New York 13601.
