Grandpa showed me so much about life in the time that we shared together. He always was telling jokes, even if he wasn't feeling himself at times. He showed me to always follow my dreams and goals, even if I have to surpass many obstacles. It was a great pleasure to have you in my life and take care of you. I've gained a new family thanks to you. I love you so much Grandpa.

My memories of Mr. Benoit will always include our discussions of our favorite team, the Yankees. Whether it be family gatherings at Thanksgiving, Christmas, or just a summer barbecue, Mr. Benoit always made you feel comfortable and at home, always taking an immediate fatherly interest in you and your life at the moment. Donald H. Benoit, age 86, formerly of Lithia, Fl passed away, January 3, 2018 at Claremont Nursing Home in Point Pleasant. Donald was born in Taunton, MA on November 1, 1931 and grew up in Spring Valley, NY, to the late Paul and Louise (Letourneau) Benoit.  

Donald proudly served his county in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. After serving in the Air Force, Donald Married the love of his life, Lucille, bought their first home on Bellows Lane in New City, NY and he and Lucille raised his four chidren.  

Donald worked for American Cyanamid (now Pfizer Pharmeceutical) in Pearl River, NY and finished his life long career with Pfizer Pharmeceutical Company in Wayne, NJ. Donald attended night school for many years and went onto to graduate from Farleigh Dickinson University, attaining his Master’s Degree in Business. Until his retirement during his leisure time, Donald enjoyed being involved in his children’s activities and spent many years as a local little league coach. Donald also enjoyed golfing, sailing, rooting for this beloved NY Yankees and spending time with his family. Later in life Donald involved himself in all his grand children’s lives an was proud of all 11 of his grand children. Donald is preceded in death by his granddaughter Hanna Lucille Silverman in 2014.  

Donald is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucille (Eckerson) Benoit; by his sons, Donald “Don” H. Benoit, Jr. and his wife Ann Marie, Michael “Mike” Benoit and his wife Heather, Andrew “Andy” Benoit, by his daughter, Dianne Caruso and her husband Gene. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Molly, Jayson, Kaitlin, Samantha, Olivia, John Pierre (J.P.), Alexandria, Nathaniel, Jacquelyn, Bartholomew.  At the family’s request all services are private.
