Donald Ray “Donald Duck” Nelson, Sr., 57, passed away in Commerce, Texas on Thursday, November 14, 2024. 

Donald Ray Nelson, Sr. was born in Greenville, Texas on Wednesday, August 30, 1967 to the parentage of Willie Ray Nelson and Charlene Jones Nelson.  He received his formal education from schools in the Greenville Independent School District.

Donald Ray, “Donald Duck” as he was fondly called loved landscaping and spending time with his family.  He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Greenville, Texas.

Loved ones left to cherish Donald’s precious memory:  a son, Donald Nelson, Jr.; three daughters, Demi’s Lewis, Sharlene Nelson and Elisia Johnson; a sister, Felicia Wallick; a brother, Edward Nelson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Ray Nelson and Charlene Jones Nelson; two sisters, Gloria Riley and Barbara Nelson; six brothers, Johnny Nelson, Jerry Nelson, Charles Nelson, Robert Nelson, Joseph Nelson and Willie Ray Nelson Jr. and a nephew, Antoine Nelson, Sr.
