Dear Family,
We are so very sorry to hear this. Don was greatly loved by all. We send our love and sincere condolences to you all. We have so many great memories of you all. Don was the very best of everything. Such a true gentleman, Don Parsons. We are truly heartbroken.

Donald was a friend and patriot. He cared about the community of Fernley and devoted his time to make it a better place. Don loved his family above all else.

Donald's Obituary

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather Donald R. Parsons, 75, passedaway peacefully on at home. He was the husband of Sherry Jun 17, 2024 L.Parsons. Theyshared 56 years of marriage together.Long time Fernley resident, born 1948 in Reno Nevada, he was the son of Delmar and PatriciaParsons. He attended school in Fernley, graduating in 1966. He entered the United States Armyand was stationed in Germany for three years. Later he attended the University of NevadaReno. He worked as a teacher at Pyramid Lake High School and NYTC in Elko, but spent mostof his working career as a carpenter. He built structures all over the United States, but primarilyin Northern Nevada.He is a member of the LDS church, served several terms as a Fernley Town Board/City CouncilMember, was a boy scout leader for over twenty years, and served as a Captain in Fernley’sVolunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, hunting, fishing, and camping. Hewill be remembered for his commitment and love of country, the Fernley Community, and mostof all his family.He is survived by his wife Sherry Parsons; his children, Angela Olea (Ray Olea), Christina Haas(Jacob Haas), and Donald W. Parsons (Lindsay Parsons); his grandchildren Wyatt Chism (EmilyChism), Joseph Chism, Emily Olea, Carter Chapin, Jackson Chapin, Elizabeth Chapin, GraceChapin, Alese Haas, Emma Ballard (Logan Ballard), Aurora Parsons, Donald Bodie Parsons;his great granddaughter Josie Chism; and his brother Sidney Parsons. He was predeceased byDelmar Parsons (father), Patricia Parsons (mother), Marleen Parsons (sister) and LeslieParsons (brother).The viewing will begin at 10am, services at 11am on Jun 29, 2024 at the LDS Church 155HWY 95A in Fernley with interment at the Fernley Desert Memorial Garden Cemetery followingthe services.
