Don was a good friend of mine in high school as well as college. We both graduated from MHS in 1979 and Iowa State in 1983. I have many good memories of happy times spent together with mutual friends and am saddened to hear of his passing. We both had Norwegian roots and my parents (Norm and Shirley Egli) knew Don's parents. Prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

When Don lived near Seattle, He and I were co workers and friends. Our shared family name made him like family to us and we spent many good times together. My most heartfelt condolences to his family and friends in Marshalltown. There is another empty spot in our hearts, but we know he is at peace and without pain now.

Donald's Obituary
Donald Robertson, 52, of Marshalltown, died Tuesday afternoon, May 20th, at the Iowa River Hospice Home with family at his side.Funeral services for Don will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Harlan Nuss officiating. Born on June 13th, 1961, in Marshalltown, he was the son of Donald and Marie (Erikson) Robertson. Don graduated from Marshalltown High School class of 1979 and was a member of the national honors society. He later received his B.S. Degree from Iowa State University in Engineering. Mr. Robertson held a highly successful career at Boeing in Seattle as an aerospace engineer.Don enjoyed running, doing handyman repairs such as carpentry, woodworking and small motor repair. He especially loved his time spent with his family.Left to cherish his remarkable life is his mother, Marie, of Marshalltown, his siblings: Deanna (Paul) Adams of Marshalltown, Paul Robertson of Ft. Dodge, Kris (David) Navara of Marshalltown and Jennifer Robertson-Lacey of Iowa City, as well as his nieces and nephews- Jerome Waterbeck, Weston Waterbeck, Julie Chrisco, Mikayla Lacey and Logan Lacey as well as many friends.In death, he rejoined his dad, an infant brother James Paul Robertson and nephew in infancy Michael Waterbeck.
