Donald Penn Sandifer

Donald Penn Sandifer passed away December 23, 2025 at the age of 84. He was a resident of St. Louis Missouri. 

Penn was born on July 2, 1941 to Eleanor Louise Kirk and Donald Ford Sandifer in San Antonio, Texas. After Penn graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1959, he went on to study Electrical Engineering at Southern Methodist University.

After graduating in 1964 he was hired by a nationwide telephone company, where he received a recognition for 30 years of perfect attendance.  In 1967, Penn married Helen Elizabeth Wiederhold in Irving, Texas. Penn and Helen went on to have 2 children, Stephen Penn Sandifer, and James Scott Sandifer.  In 1994, Penn retired and spent his time reading, hiking and traveling with friends.  Penn was preceded in death by his son Stephen. He is survived by his sisters Jan Sandifer Johnson and Susan Sandifer White, his wife Helen, his son Scott, and his grandson James Riley Sandifer.      The Graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 2:pm at Sunset Cemetery, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Texas 78218.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
