Not sure what to say?

I met Donny thru Glen and we got wild but what fun days I’ll miss him.

May the love and memories you shared bring you comfort.

It’s me Teresa again. Donnie was my first cousin. I don’t know what I was thinking.

Lifting you and your family up in many prayers. I’m a second cousin to Donnie. My Mom is first cousins to Donnie. She had lots of fond memories with Donnie’s family while living in Chicago. Sending love and prayers to all.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one today and always.
Our big brother was a special person. He will be missed so very much. But his memories will live on for generations❤❤❤

I’ll always remember Uncle Donny ( that’s what I called him) with a smile on his face and always had plenty of jokes, I’ll never forget the times we would visit so many special memories. Aunt Brenda, little Don, Eddie and Monica my thoughts and prayers are with you, much love

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Prayers for alll

Rest in Peace

Obituary

Donald's Obituary

Donald "Don" Smith, 79, passed away peacefully on October 21st, 2025, with his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Brenda, by his side.

Born on August 24th, 1946, in Louisville, Mississippi, Don grew up with a passion for muscle cars that lasted his entire life. He loved everything about them-building motors, working on them in the garage, taking them out for a drive, and watching every race he could. His enthusiasm for cars was matched only by the love he had for his family.

Don was a devoted husband, a fantastic father, and the best Peepaw anyone could hope for. His kindness, humor, and warmth touched the lives of everyone who knew him, and his memory will continue to bring smiles and stories for years to come.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family and friends.

Don was a loving husband to Brenda (nee Ledford), the proud father of Don Jr. (Christine) Smith, Edward (Jenifer) Smith and Monica (Mark) Maylath and a dear grandfather to Jacqueline, Andrew, Molly, Conor, Colin, Madelyn, Brandon, and great granddaughter, Evelyn.

He is also survived by his siblings Judy, Dewey, Aleda, Shirley, Zane, Kay, Emily, and Angie.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a prayer service at 11:30 a.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C, 108 Illinois St., Lemont, IL 60439.

Interment private.
