So sad to lose my favorite aunt. How can life be so good and so hard at the same time? I am glad I got to see her as often as I did. I only wish it had been more.

It is hard to lose a Mom, my heartfelt sympathy to Donette’s family. May you surround one another with love and may it bring comfort.

As I kid, I remember Donette calling my mom (Rita Hanratty) in the early winter and saying, "The snow is covering the cow pies!" That meant there was enough snow to start snowmobiling. We'd pile into the car with the sleds on the trailer and head over to the Lambert farm, anticipating a day of fun. And our visits weren't just that time of year. Whenever we were close, us kids would ask if we could go to the Lamberts.
Those times we stayed over night at their place, I remember...
